Bernie’s Pick of the Week!
COLOR: Deep royal ruby
AROMA: Wild cherry and bramble fruit with hints of oak shavings
FLAVOR: Fruit expression at first sip expanding to slight tannic fullness then a smooth, lingering finish.
FOOD PAIRING: We find duck confit or terrine on crustini to be an ideal mate to this bordeaux infulenced blend. Flank steak grilled and covered with parmesan dotted, sauteed spinach is a sure hit.
STORY OF THIS WINE: We hand select from over 150 barrels to pull lots together to craft our Rock & Rail. Aged 15 months in a combination of new and older French oak. The composition of each vintage varies with the contribution of the wines comprising the blend. Scripted to be fruit focused, oak-influenced yet without harsh tannins, it is soft yet form, yielding a delightful wine meant for serious enjoyment.
THE FRUIT: The 2012 Rock & Rail is comprised of 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot, and 5% Cabernet Franc. Each player performing its part beautifully. 100% Estate Grown and Produced.
